Who is it for?

This refresher course is designed for site managers who have previously completed their SMSTS course and need to renew their certificate. You can undertake the refresher course within 6 months either side of your SMSTS pass date.

Aims and Objectives

At the end of this refresher course candidates will have an updated knowledge of current regulations, legislation and safety related topics. This course will require candidates to demonstrate their current health and safety knowledge resulting in the award of the Site Safety Plus certificate for Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).

Confined SpaceWho is this for?

This training course is designed for any person whose job involves work and entry into confined spaces. Candidates should have a current Medical Certificate

The Level 2 Confined Space Entry – Medium Risk course:

The aim of this unit is to assess learners against the national standard in a realistic medium risk environment preparing to work safely; entering and exiting confined spaces safely; preparing and using escape breathing apparatus; using equipment and tools safely; following procedures and dealing with emergencies. There is also a behavioural emphasis on the candidate undertaking the assessment in an efficient and safe manner. The unit also requires the learner to demonstrate sufficient general and water-specific knowledge through a mix of practical observation and written assessment. Successful candidates will demonstrate a good understanding of the hazards associated with work in confined spaces and the practices needed to ensure safe operation whilst this work takes place.

Who is this for?

From the 10th September 2009 a legislative directive came into force with the aim to improve the skills and knowledge of LGV & PCV drivers. All Professional LGV & PCV drivers must complete 35 hours of training before Sept 2013 (PCV) and Sept 2014 (LGV) respectively.

Applicable to licence categories: C1, C1+E, C, C+E, D1, D1+E, D, D+E

Aims and Objectives:

To inform professional drivers of the im-portance of company image and customer expectations. Candidates will learn how to conduct themselves when faced with a difficult customers and sensitive situations, viewing the problem objectively, and not taking the customer’s grievances personally. Building strength into the company brand through positive customer interaction.

First Aid at Work - Refresher

Who is it for?

The two day first aid at work requalification course allows first aid at work qualified staff to revalidate their certificate for a further 3 years. Attendees must have a valid (not out of date by more than 28 daysrecommended) first aid at work certificate.

Aims and Objectives:

To provide candidates with the necessary updates and refresher training, through theoretical and practical training sessions. On successful completion of this refresher training course, candidates should have the required knowledge and techniques to continue to administer First Aid effectively and confidently.

Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme - Refresher

SSSTS Refresher:

Candidates must take an SSSTS Refresher course before their existing certificate expires, otherwise the full SSSTS course will have to be taken again. The six month grace period that used to be in place ceased to exist from 1 January 2016.

Aim and Objectives:

This one-day course will reinforce and update your knowledge and understanding of your legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. On successful completion of this refresher course candidates will be aware of and able to implement. all updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affect their role as a supervisor new guidance and industry best practice affect-ed by changes their duties and responsibilities with regard to health, safety, welfare and the environment.
