Who is this for?

This course is suitable for all electrical engineers, contractors, electricians or domestic installers who need to understand the principles behind the regulations and how it affects all aspects of their day to day work.


The course will give candidates knowledge of how to apply the requirements of BS7671 to electrical installations.

On successful completion of this course candidates will be able to explain the fun-damental requirements of BS7671, be able to demonstrate the application of the regu-lations and identify the requirements of the special regulations

Course Contents

Day 1:

Part 1: Understanding the scope, object and fundamental principles of BS7671

Part 2: Understand the definitions used within BS7671

Part 3: Understanding how to assess the general characteristics of electrical installations

Part 4: Understanding the requirements of protection for safety for electrical installations

Day 2:

Part 4: Continued. Understand requirements of protection for safety for electrical installations

Part 5: Understanding the requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations

Day 3:

Part 6: Understanding the requirements of Inspection and testing of electrical installations

Part 7: Understanding the requirements of Special installations or locations as identified in BS

240 volt electrical supply

Candidates are to be in possession of the following when attending the course:-

BS 7671:2008 IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition

Scientific calculator (non programmable)
