industrial training gloucestershire

Since 1970, C&G Services has been providing industrial training of the highest quality from our head office in Gloucestershire. The business began training drivers, but quickly branched out to train in health & safety, street works and materials handling, becoming industry leaders in crane training and providing construction training for over 30 years.

With 4 training sites, over 10,000 people trained annually, clients like Airbus, Magnox and Severn Trent Water, a cornucopia of valued accreditations including ISO 9001 and more than 15 years as an Investor in People, C&G is the first choice for anyone looking to get trained.

We all want the best team, whether it’s football or rugby or cricket. You can only get the best if they’re professionally trained. It’s the same in the workplace. If you have the best trained people, you’re able to deliver a better product and a better service.

Bob Oldmeadow, Founder and Managing Director of C&G Services.

C&G has completed work throughout the UK as well as internationally, in the Republic of Ireland, Spain and the Seychelles.

C&G is also a provider of eLearning courses, and many of their health & safety and theory courses are available as eLearning courses, allowing candidates to take training in their own time, without having to travel to a training centre.

The business began as a driving school with just six cars, but soon began training on large goods vehicles. When the law changed in 1969 all LGV drivers had three years to pass an LGV test or lose their license. Training these drivers made C&G a direct competitor to the Government-funded Gloucester Transport Training Association. The business bought out the Gloucester Transport Training Association, forming Cotswold & Gloucester Transport Training Services, the origin of the C&G that the company still uses today.

Requests for forklift, industrial and logistics training allowed C&G to acquire a training site in Ryeford, that was just enough to store some vehicles, totalling under 2000 square feet.

In 1990 C&G made the move to Station House, with several offices, classrooms and 3 acres of training site and vehicle storage. This enabled C&G to add plant and machinery training to their growing portfolio of services and the business rapidly grew, training thousands of candidates a year.

The business further expanded to deliver health & safety training and the business began operating nationally, with 95% of training taking place on customer sites across the country. A full time team of trainers based around the country look after clients’ local requirements.

The business operates out of offices and classrooms at 201, The Waterfront in Stonehouse Business Park in Gloucestershire, with fully equipped training sites at Station House, Lodgemore and Burton upon Trent. The business now specialises in Health & Safety, Construction & Plant, Lifting & Crane, Streetworks & Civils, Materials Handling & Forklift and Transport & Logistics, and designs bespoke industrial training courses for many of their hundreds of clients.
