Who

This training course is designed for prospective 360° excavator (below 10t)operators, which have little or no previous operating experience who will be required to operate the machine for daily tasks

Aims

To develop candidates ability to safely and effectively operate 360˚ excavators (below 10t)in the normal course of their work

Objectives

On completion of this training course, operators should have an accepted knowledge of the safe and effective operation of 360° excavators (below 10t) in accordance with the manufacturers guide lines and accepted good practice

Outline

Course Contents

Operators duties, responsibilities and general machine safety including MindSafety
Hazards and risk associated to mini excavator operations
Identification of component parts and Pre Start safety checks
Machine controls and function
Machine safety devices and protective structures
General machine manoeuvring and control
Site the machine safely and efficiently in relation to the task be-ing undertaken.
Safe digging practice and procedures
Practical exercises to include deep and shallow trench working
Backfill and compaction methods with 360˚ Excavator (below 10t)
Clearly understand the causes on instability of excavator and loads handled.
Operate and travel machine safely on inclines
Operate machine safely and efficiently
Bucket changing and operational considerations.
Shut down and park machine safely
Prepare machine for travel on/off trailer
Attachment and use of hydraulic breaker (If required)
Hydraulic system safety (Connection and disconnection)
